Layla Rani Gautam - Month 3

Layla, for this month's blog we asked your Nani and Thatha to write you a few words since they recently came and got to spend some time with you during our very first mothers day together. Your big personality is already starting to emerge and we can't wait to travel home with you in a few weeks to visit your extended families in Columbus and Houston. We love you baby girl - keep shining and growing.

From Nani: What a difference a month can make! I left New York on March 26 when Layla was just six weeks old and I returned when she was just hitting her three month mark. It was amazing what a difference I could see, I felt as if I was seeing a new baby!! I could see so much more of her (😄)she had folds on her arms and thighs and she felt substantial in my arms now ! It seemed almost as if she remembered me, the way she looked into my eyes I felt she knew me. I feel such overwhelming love when I hold her against  me,  she just lays there and looks up to make sure she is safe and warm 😍. I could even see hints of smiles, which she gave very sparingly, and was making a lot of new cooing sounds! You have made such great strides Laylu Rani, as your parents said you were little but mighty but now you are not so little anymore. I can sense you are going to be one feisty young lady and very independent like your mama. You are a blessing to all of us and you are also blessed to be born to your mom and dad who adore you and will do anything to make your dreams come true. We all love you with all of our hearts and pray that you are blessed each day with happiness and joy❤️

From Thatha: Dearest Layla Rani – This is your Thatha (What grand fathers are called in South India including Tamil which is Naani and my Mother Tongue). I am thrilled to add a few words to your third month’s blog. The first time I saw you a few days after being born, I was smitten. You came into the world early which shows you are in a hurry to get going. This indicates you are a doer who will achieve whatever you set your mind to. I could see the way you had your parents do exactly what you wanted them to, even though you were only 12 weeks when I came to visit for the second time.

I loved the way you slept in the crook of my arm and the way you found the appropriate position and location when I had you on my chest. I was bestowed with your smile and cooing, which I believe was your way of conveying your acceptance of me. I am very happy with the way your parents are caring for you. Your dad shows his affection for you by the many ways he refers to you. Your mom shows her love of you, with her patience and dedication to ensure that you have your mother’s milk ready anytime you want.

Layla Rani, I look forward to seeing you in Columbus in a few weeks to build on the bond we established the few days I spent with you. May God bless you with a healthy and happy life Rani.
