Layla Rani Gautam - Month 5

Hi booboo!! This month is going to be a special appearance from Dadi and Dadu! But before their note, quick update on your life. You've been a jetsetter this past month! We spent around 10 days in Columbus with your Thatha and Nani, where you also met all your cousins for the first time! You and your mama got upgraded to first class on your very first flight ever - look at you miss fancy pants! Then we spent 10 days with Dadi and Dadu in Houston. Finally, we took you all the way to San Jose, California for a wedding! You kept your mama in the hotel room the whole time but it was fun because we took you out and splished splashed in the pool for a little while! Okay, below is from your Dadi and Dadu.

Dearest Darling Layla Rani,

Happy 5th month birthday to our darling Rani. Ever since you’ve come into our lives you’ve changed our world. You’ve filled our hearts and home with so much joy, so much love, warmth and laughter.

Your par dadi loves you and fondly remembers you. She is so happy to see you being the bearer of her fourth generation. You have just lit up the whole family in many different ways and have become part of every conversation. There’s lots of love and adoration all around for you.

We were so excited and over the moon when you first came to visit us in Sugar Land with your mom and dad in June of 2022. You made the house come alive! It was so much fun putting your things together and buying baby stuff after decades.  It was so good to have your mama, dada and bua home at the same time. We had a full, fun house and everybody loved to huddle around you. Your bua would hum her favorite Hritik Roshan songs and Shah Rukh Khan songs to help you fall asleep. Now she’ll have to explain who they are once you grow up.

Your dad would drop you off to us in the morning and we enjoyed our morning one-on-one with you everyday. Together we would play and I would sing you the same nursery rhymes I used to sing to your dad. You would make silly noises and talk to us with your adorable oohs, aahs and coos and agoos! Dadu and I were always amazed to see how responsive you were. You were such a happy and playful baby - very active and alert. You loved your play-gym. You were already trying to reach out and grab little stuffed toys hanging close to you. Such a strong girl! Dadu loved taking you out on walks, showing you around and connecting you with nature. Even though it would be hot outside, you seemed to enjoy outdoors, curiously looking around and perceptive to all the sounds. You even tracked the sound of an airplane way up in the sky. It was so much fun seeing the growth of your motor skills pretty much on daily basis. Dadu is eagerly looking forward to playing soccer soon with you in the backyard.

We have an ongoing debate on who you resemble more and we feel that you’ve taken the best of both your mom & dad! You are so cute, cuddly and beautiful!
